If you are a self employed tradesman and run a small business from your own home or from 3 rd party sites then Norwich Union’s Self-Employed policy is the one for you. If you have employees, then it provides you with employer’s liability insurance (which is a legal requirement). It also covers Public Liability and Product Liability, commercial legal protection and Money & Assault as standard. The product has been designed especially to cater for the very specific insurance requirements of a Self-Employed Tradesman or business. It is also modular, meaning that you can slot different types of cover together to buy an insurance product that suits you. For example, if you are a plumber, you could take out the optional Contractors Tools cover to protect the tools of your trade against theft. Or maybe you feel that you would like to provide the employees of the business with some of the sickness benefits associated with working for a much bigger organisation. In that case the optional Personal Accident cover could be slotted into the package.
